A smoky spell must have been cast when making this one, it's a peated Croftengea single malt that spent 11 years maturing in a refill bourbon hogshead.
Batch 5 is a release of 183 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet, vegetal malt, creamy grist, and sawdust are joined by olive brine, shellfish, and some pebbly minerality.
Palate
Sweet notes of salted caramel and oily melted butter are backed by nutmeg, peppercorns, and gentle, earthy peat smoke.
Finish
Coastal notes linger, with driftwood, a touch of brine, rich oak, and warming pepper.
