Linkwood - Batch 2 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
It's the second batch of Linkwood bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! That chap on the label is fixing Trigger's broom, which he got a medal for - he's been using the same broom for 20 years. I mean, it's had 17 new heads and 14 new handles, but he says it's still the same broom.
Right?
Of course, this a modernised way of presenting the Ship of Theseus paradox, as is a portion of Linkwood's history. The distillery was expanded in 1971, becoming two distilleries called Linkwood A and Linkwood B, where the new stills were. Linkwood A was eventually closed, leaving Linkwood B to be the only Linkwood.
Linkwood Batch 2 is a release of 135 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Ice cream, raspberry ripple perhaps. Almond, vanilla, peanut brittle, mint and blackcurrant.
Palate
Crème brûlée topped with toasted almonds. Honeyed mid palate with sultanas and late cinnamon.
Finish
Into crème caramel with a touch of clove.
Overall
Unctuous Speyside whisky.
