From Speyside's Linkwood distillery, a splendid nine-year-old single malt, distilled in 2012 and matured in bourbon hogsheads, before finishing in a first fill oloroso cask. The whisky was bottled up by Murray McDavid in 2022, releasing 1,503 bottles for its Benchmark collection.
Honeyed granola, fresh apples, and berries, with creamy oak and a hint of ginger.
Delicious layers of sweet candied fruit, vanilla custard, and buttery pastry, with charred pineapple and zesty marmalade.
Honeyed fruit remains, joined by mellow spice, juicy sultanas, and sweet oak.
