This is an 11 year old single malt from the Linkwood distillery, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. As with the rest of the Boutique-y bottling, the label features a reference to the distillery's history - in this case, how it was once one distillery, then technically two distilleries, then the original closed down so the newer one became the main distillery. Confusing? A bit. Delicious? A lot.
Batch 4 is a release of 956 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Fresh lemongrass stalks and banoffee pie lead among buttery digestive biscuits and a hint of apple. Flickers of cinnamon underneath add depth and spice.
Fizzy oak sparkles through butterscotch in a golden barley core. A hint of milk chocolate develops on the mid-palate.
A buttery finish carries a black pepper spice and a note of brandy snaps.
