Classic Speyside goodness from Linkwood distillery in Elgin, aged for 11 years between April 2008 and August 2019. These 358 bottles make a fine addition to our very own Master of Malt independent range. An inviting aperitif, at a tasty price. Or should that be a tasty aperitif, at an inviting price? Take your pick!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Breakfast-y with inviting orchard fruit, a touch of Farley's Rusks, and Oat So Simple (Apple & Blueberry). Gingernuts biscuits are in the vicinity.

Palate Leading from the nose, but with a tuck shop element in tow - apple fizzy belts and sour apples, rhubarb and custard boiled sweets, getting into some tropical pineapple cubes.

Finish Balancing bitter peels, honeyed oak and soft spice.

Reviews for Linkwood 11 Year Old 2008 (Master of Malt)
Excellent dram
I bought this thanks to YouTube reviews from no nonsense and whisky diary. Excellent options and thanks to them I grabbed one of these limited bottles. What a light, fruitful and zingy dram.

Lovely and gentle whisky full of summertime green fruits
Now that's a nice gentle dram. Green and light fruit on the nose. Ginger, pineapple, huge gooseberry note, Gingham (my Mum -bless her- used that perfume for years), soft caramelised pineapple, green grape, oily, greengages, sweet apricot, fresh cut grass.
This is not a belter of a whisky and it does not try to be. This is a summertime aperitif, and a warming flush of summer fruits.
Enjoyed it... Don't worry about wearing socks because no chance of blowing them off. But - forgo a summer Gin and try a dram of this lovely maiden.

Excellent at this price.
A cracking bottling at the price. Surprisingly complex dram from an unfashionable distillery, which is often considered as blend filler. Lemon and sour apple for sure. Very sherbert on the mouth feel with a great mix of sweet and sour. The description says apple fizzy belts. I was brought to mind of lemon flying saucers.

Cracking value
Not as good as the Eadie or signatory but for 10 bucks less cracking value. As I find with most linkwoods gets better as the bottle goes down. Definitely worth the money.
