The Flora and Fauna series release from Linkwood, featuring a swan on the label in honour of the swans who live by adjacent reservoir. This is the only official bottling from the distillery, as almost all of production is destined for the blending houses, who highly value its character.
Quite green, thick. Herbal, nutty, oily. Almond.
Medium, oily. Honey, pine oil. Malt, almond.
Quite long, dry, touch of anise.
This is the best (non-sherry) 12 years old i ever tasted, silky, citrus, smooth honey - fantastic dram! Totally worth the money though it seems to be hard to find one nowadays.
A truly amazing dram, used mainly for blending and you can see why. All the notes a good malt has is here in this one. Worth the money not readily available out side uk so buy if who have the chance.
A very nice dram indeed , get yourself a bottle its well worth the price.
Nose: Pine nuts, barley sugars (the sweets), mint jelly (like you get with lamb), oak leafs green from the tree Taste: Crystal clean yummy barley, walnuts, apple and pear cores, almonds. Finish: Dry white wine, grape skins, apricot A stunner, quite dear for a 12 year old but worth every penny if your a Speyside fan. Wonderful stuff.
