Lindores Abbey
Scotland
Single Malt
The second release in the The Casks of Lindores II series, which explores the three core casks the Lowland distillery uses, bourbon, sherry butts, and STR (shaved, toasted, and re-charred) wine barriques. When combined, they make up the maturation profile of the signature Lindores Abbey single malt, MCDXCIV (1494). In this edition, only STR casks from Spain and Portugal were used to mature the spirit. This is the oldest general release single malt from the distillery to date, with some whisky exceeding five years of age, while the youngest is four years and eight months.
Apple and cinnamon spiced Danish pastries, vanilla, stewed plums, dark honey, and chocolate truffles.
Fruit cake, brown sugar, liquorice, prunes, apricot jam, and warm baking spices.
Coffee fudge and cinnamon.
