In this limited edition bottling from Lindores Abbey Distillery, the Lowland single malt has been matured entirely in bourbon barrels, highlighting one of the three core casks used at the distillery. Plenty of bourbon character to be found here, with layers of vanilla and sweet spices.
Vanilla custard, chocolate chip cookies, warm baking spices, and lemon curd.
More oaky vanilla, with some peppery spice, cloves, and cinnamon, along with some green grape freshness.
Silky caramel and spices.
Discovered this whisky via the MoM Advent Calendar 2024. It’s a fine whisky which I’ll definitely buy again.
