“Think Laphroaig 10, but smokier and a touch drier on both the nose as well as the palate. It also packs more punch with a 48% ABV, but not as much as the CS (obviously). The bourbon backbone is very evident. It reminds me a bit of the 2015 Cairdeas, actually. Alternately, one could also think of it as being similar in flavor profile to the QC, but without the rough edge. Overall, a worthy enough addition to the Laphroaig family.”

Laphroaig The 1815 Legacy Edition was created by Distillery Manager John Campbell in honour of the members of the Laphroaig team that have been producing the much-adored whisky on Islay over the years. This expression features whisky aged in first-fill bourbon barrels and new European oak hogsheads.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Cinnamon-spiced apricots, marmalade, heavy layers of toasty peat.

Palate

TCP, brown sugar and caramel, a hint of raisin.

Finish

Robust notes of peat last.
