The Laphroaig PX Cask is made with whisky matured in three types of cask - American oak casks, Quarter casks and the titular Pedro Ximénez casks. This leads to a flavour profile which ties together classic, powerful Laphroaig smoke and wine-like sweetness. It was originally released for Travel Retail.
Excellent single malt, but aroma is exagerated- smells like a burned wood house after extinguish
I wouldn't call myself a big scotch drinker when I do its usually a more expensive drop. Had a bottle of this bought for me for Christmas 2014. Thought I would give it a taste test last night [ august 2015] . My god what a surprise. Beautiful is the only way to describe it. It will probably turn me into a drunk. Lovely whiskey, thank you!!!!
