Roasted coffee beans, almond pastries, sawdust and medicinal peat.
An intense waft of smoke as it opens, with earthy vanilla pod and subtle cookie dough following it up.
Drying, quite spicy and long.

In all honesty, I've seen this whisky getting allot of bad reviews around my community but for me personally, I VERY WELL enjoy it! If your into Peaty then this is an exceptional easy drinker. Fine, it's a NAS but still! it's allot more premium then some of the other single malts I've tried and in fact paid allot more for. Think of this one as a Peaty Glenlivet 12 ... Hah...!
Almost certainly chill filtered, but for once no caramel added by the looks of it. Coatline is thin, legs slow to run, but quite quick when they do. Nose - smoke, ash, smokey bacon, iodine, coconut, vanilla, piney aromatic. After half an hour or more in the air, the smokiness fades and is replaced by aromatic rose aroma, ethyl laureate, suggesting the turbo maturation has left this. Palate - salty, smokey bacon, perfumed, carbolic Finish - medium length, certainly not the longevity of the ten year old, smoke fades, carbolic after a few minutes. Guaiacol finish of roasted coffee.
Smooth whisky.Worth of every penny. Different but still something that you will recognise it as Laphroaig.
Quite interesting expression... Not the typical Laphroaig but still recommended to try and enjoy. Creamy and sweet with long spicy finish and of course... lots of smoky taste here!
