Oh yes, it's another exceptional 25 Year Old Cask Strength Laphroaig! This is the 2020 release of the annual expression, matured for a quarter of a century in a combination of second fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks and American white oak bourbon barrels. Sweet vanilla, peppery spice and classic Laphroaig smoke – it's all here, at a glorious 49.8% ABV!
Sweet vanilla and wood spice, smoke and TCP, though restrained, some smoked bacon, with underlying dried fruit added to the mix.
Very creamy and rich, with a full texture, peppery, spicy, iodine, saline and smokiness. There's also a little green apple fruit.
Very long and layered, waves of rich smoke and a peppery conclusion.
