Released in 2004, this bottling was aged for around five years before being finished in a quarter cask for several months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation. This remains a truly great achievement from Laphroaig.
Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Medium-length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.

Rather nice taste, with sweetness coming through, nice creamy, smooth mouthfeel, 48% strength. Never tried Laphroaig before....this one is nice!!
Oh men, this is so sweet on the tongue! A great surprise. I think it is actually the most accessible Laphroaig you can get. The only think that disappoints me is the very short finish, I expected more on this side. A kind of 10 Yo with more sweetness and always well balance.
I find it very similar to the 10 Yo. Actually, it is a 10 Yo with a massiv improvment. better from the start to the aftertaste. Great sweetness with the famous laphroaig Peat. The only problem : going back to the original 10yo is difficult...
A delicious and complex expression characterized by definitive smoke, peat and medicinal notes with citurs sweetness in the back. The best NAS out there for the money.
Brine, fire, ash, road tar, inner tube, bandaid, school lavatory, hickory stricks, smokey brisket , citrus fruits, medical bracelet, sweet chocolate. 'nough said. I'm in.
