Released in 2004, this bottling was aged for around five years before being finished in a quarter cask for several months, the size of the cask is quite small, thus does not require such a long maturation. This remains a truly great achievement from Laphroaig.
Oily and buttery nose, with toffee, nuttiness, hickory, bicarbonate of soda, rum and raisin ice cream and zest.
Big rush of sweetness, in fact it’s an explosion of sweetness, with fiery chilli heat, TCP, sweet cereals and a touch of cola syrup.
Medium-length, but becomes fruity, with custard and cigar smoke.

Very good, full of flavour. A little acidic? but with a few drops of water it transforms and flavours keep coming. Unmistakeable as a Laphroaig and I think I prefer to the 10yr. Really enjoyed and certainly very good value. Will buy again for sure.
Islay's gift to mankind. Enough said.
I have tried several speysides as well as some Islays distilleries and Laphroaig Quarter Cask is my favorite. Love the taste explosion followed by the finish that sneaks up on you like a pleasent surprise.
Smokey. Smoke. Did I say smokey? Smokey. Reeaallyy smokey. Drinking this scotch is an experience every time, it's a wallop to the palate. It smells like classic Laphroaig, salty ambesol. The first sip is a tongue singeing melody of ashes, smoke, and peat. It's truly great.
I'll have it!!! An explosion of flavor covering all highpoints of nose, palate and finish. Nay sayers should stick to sweet sherried expressions that offer none of the Quarter Casks complexity. Delicious dram.
