Lagavulin
16 Year Old Whisky
Customer Rating
“I regularly buy Scotch Whisky and have been doing so for the past 50 years. My previous favourite was Dalmore 12 years. But now that has changed with a stunningly smooth Lagavulin 16 years. This fantastic whisky is my favourite because there is so much happening with it's superb taste, smell, palate and after taste. Finally, the wee dram is silky smooth. In my opinion and palate, it does not require a drop of water. This particular whisky is by far my number one choice.”

Description
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature Sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate
Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and Sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish
Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla.
