The 2010 Lagavulin Special Release from Diageo. This 12-year-old is a vatting of refil American oak casks, and it marks the ninth in the series. Sweet and intense.

My first 12 CS from Lagavulin Colour : light strawyellow Nose : a lot of ( wet ) earthy peat; below that sweet apples and vanilla. Taste : the apples and vanilla return with a whif of (acacia) honey while the peat takes on a more sea like character; more smoked fish when some water is added. Finish : long with a pleasant sensation in the mouth which lasts forever. A finish you will still be experiencing the next morning!
