Label 5
Blended
Label 5 Classic Black, is a very well known (particularly in France) blended Scotch whisky, made with a hearty helping of fruity Speyside malts at its core. A great value blend.
Rather sweet with vanilla and sticky toffee pudding. Hints of ginger and cinnamon.
Apples, pears and a subtle grassy note or two. A little citrus and caramel.
A clean finish with lemon zest and brown sugar.
Used to Monkey Shoulders ( triple blend) wh is less peaty. Ok, this is Pretty good, not offensive like, Ardbeg?" a Scotch requiring an " acquired taste according to salesmen". Conclusion..A Bargain Worth Sampling from Scotland. Yes, both this and Monkey Shoulders, both Scot blends, are Winners
Bought because it was cheap, liked because it does have character and unusual for me, drinking it neat.
Bought a litre for £17 from Morrison's not expecting much had in on the rocks and pleasantly surprised sweet with a wee hint of smoke not bad for the money
Got it as a gift and definitely not disappointed at all!! Really cant understand the very few negative and derogatory remarks and that's coming from a Scottish single malt drinker!!
Bought a small bottle for 89 cents in a checkout line. The smell was very strong and I thought I would end up mixing it. I tried the first sip and it was actually better than I expected and did not need any mixing. No smoke and it has kind of an odd aftertaste, but for the price it's hard to complain.
