From Hepburn's Choice comes a 2006 vintage Knockdu single malt Scotch whisky that was aged for 17 years in a single refill hogshead cask. Just 360 bottles were filled at 46% ABV.
Grapefruit peel, peppery spice, toffee, stone fruit, and malt.
Lemon tart, cinnamon, tinned apricot, and honeyed nuts.
Long and spicy.
Very impressed. A kind gift from someone who was recommended by local Woodwinters store. I'm keen on likes of Craigellachie and Benromach, so it not being a typical Speyside is fine with me
Very disappointed in this whisky due to the over powering taste of smoke, which totally dominates the flavour. There is no mention of smoke in MOM tasting notes or on the bottle tasting notes. Have left the top off for nearly a week and the smoke is now fading to a medicinal smell.
Bought this on the tasting notes from MOM and on the bottle. Very disappointed as as the flavour is over powered by smoke of which there is no mention. Have left the bottle open of aand on for a week. The smoke is fading a little but changing more medicinal. Hope time will bring out the true flavours.
