This expression from the Taiwanese King Car distillery is the first to carry the name of the King Car Group instead of 'Kavalan' as their single malt whiskies have all be known as to date. Created as a well-rounded malt to represent the well-rounded Group, who operate in many industries, it is also bottled at a higher abv of 46%.
I will preface this that I am used to Scotch and this is only my second taste of a whiskey from outside the U.K. This one had very little flavor or taste. It was very smooth. I was very disappointed in this whiskey since it tasted watered-down, but my wife (who is not a big Scotch fan) liked it. I apologize if this sounds sexist but this might be a good dram for women or someone new to whiskey. I would not call this bad as there was nothing objectionable about it, but it tasted the most like water if any whiskey I ever tasted.
Very good but falls short of mindblowing. Overly sweet for me, with loads of dark fruit notes. Very easy drinking but it gets a little cloying. For me, the bog standard Kavalan Single Malt is better. Much more of a unique style, with tropical fruit notes.
Very complex and really satisfying, glad there is some great whisky out there!
I love the diversity of whiskies out there. From soft, gentle to harsh and smokey ones. My favourite is the Irish Knappogue Castle but also Ardbeg, J.W blue label,... I accidentally discovered this one and have to say I love it. The complex yet gentle, fruity aroma and taste is wonderful. They won several awards and rightly so. An Excellent whiskey!
Similar to bruchladich black art. Not at that level. At around 100 per bottle worth it.
