A blended Irish whiskey here from the Kinahan's range, which was originally established all the way back in 1779! Over the years Kinahan's received two royal warrants and became the whiskey of choice for legendary American bartender Jerry Thomas. It disappeared during the 1900s, however, but it's recently been relaunched on the very same street in Dublin where it was founded all the way back then - Trinity Street.
Sweet and light, with notes of caramel, butter and soft cereals.
Subtle orchard fruit develops, along with a touch of cigar box.
White pepper and thyme honey.

Very similar to Writer's Tears Copper Pot, but different in some regards. Honey and fruit both on the nose and palate, but the finish is not as long. The best way I could compare the two would be: Writer's Nose: 8/10 Palate: 8/10 Finish: 8/10 Kinahan's Nose: 7.5/10 Palate: 9/10 Finish: 7/10 It delivers that little bit of extra bit on the taste side of things due to higher ABV, but then shies away on the finish. Nevertheless, that taste is worth buying it again. Overall score based on price also
Nose - Carmel and spices Tasted neat - initial sweetness of honey quickly moves to buttery oak with a gentle finish. Very enjoyable whiskey!
A really great whiskey, mellow and smooth with plenty of honey on the palate. Would definitely buy again!
