This limited edition single malt from Islay's Kilchoman distillery spent its entire maturation in ruby Port casks. Two contrasting ages were combined for balance, with the youngest component aged for six years. Fascinating stuff, packed with rich red berry and smoked meat character alongside the hearty peat smoke at its core.
Rich layers of stewed red berries, fig rolls, sweet barbecue sauce and a dusting of cinnamon.
Jammy strawberries, cranberries and cured, smoked meats are joined by fragrant, leathery oak and thick smoke.
Ashen charcoal and red fruit sweetness linger, with woody spices and tobacco nestling beneath.
