A 9 year old single malt from Kilchoman - the first in the Islay distillery's Founders Cask Release series. There will be five more Founders Cask Release whiskies, each one selected by a different member of Wills family. This particular expression was chosen by Kathy Wills, the wife of the distillery's founder, Anthony Wills, and "the un-seen heartbeat of the distillery" according to the back label. It was drawn from a sherry cask that was laid down in December 2008 and cracked open in January 2018.
Nose: Earthy peat and sweet citrus notes.
Palate: Rich fruits, sweet peat and spicy dark chocolate.
Finish: The finish is long and balanced with the sweetness and the smoke.
