Kilbeggan 8yo Grain Bottling Note

Kilbeggan 8 Year Old is a stunning single grain Irish whiskey (you may have previously known it as Greenore 8 Year Old). A hugely enjoyable expression, with plenty of honey, vanilla, tropical fruit, almond and spiced oak notes - certainly deserving of your shelf-space.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Lemon sponge, honeyed cereal, vanilla and a little caramel. Toasted oak, banana and tropical fruit. Fairly light, but full of flavour - very nice indeed!

Palate: Sweet, smooth vanilla before spicy oak comes in. Touches of menthol and coconut ice.

Finish: Long with maple and pecan, milk chocolate and a hint of salinity.

Overall: A sensational grain whiskey this, top stuff!

Give me back "Greenore"

It used to be much better when it was "Greenore". Too much spirit not enough flavours. Taste like a whiskey from the shelf below.

Very tasty.

A pleasant whisky to enjoy on the patio.
Nice and sweet, reminds me of a fine Cognac.

Rough

Before going on a holiday in the countryside I bought a bottle of this on a whim and I wish I hadn't. I was only able to choke it down with copious amounts of water to dilute the roughness. Haven't touched it since returning and I can't see myself having any again. This is such poor quality it makes me embarrassed to be Irish. Avoid.

Wonderful!

Much more than one would normally expect from a grain whisky and still stands out as uniquely grain; praise doesn't get much higher than this in my vocabulary.

Truly awful

Yeah, I don't belive that this should be allowed to be called whisky.
Never tasted anything quite as bad.

However, I think that this would work as an excellent degreaser.

not terrible - marvellous stuff

This Kilbeggan is the stuff of Heavens. It sends me into the clouds on just a whiff and a snort! Best Value Single Grain - the biggest flavour on the Whisky and Whiskey market for many years. BUY BUY BUY AND DRINK AND ENJOY

Terrible

If I were told that this was turpentine mixed with acetone, without seeing the bottle, I would believe it.
Undrinkable to the extent that it's almost comical.

Safe to say that I will not buy a bottle.
