The Loch is part of a series launched by the Jura distillery originally for the Travel Retail market. This expression was initially matured in American oak casks before being finished in casks that previously held 30 year old Pedro Ximénez sherry.
Rich oak and milky coffee, with a burst of juicy raisin sweetness.
Thick caramel and treacle, balanced by a hint of peat smoke. Lasting zesty citrus peel notes.
Robust spices kick in on the finish.
I’m a fan of Jura as a brand, this is an excellent dram. Fruity and caramel notes. Sherry casks come through. A bit expensive at full price but well worth £50 if you can get it on offet
A very different Jura, but a very welcome one which I had to try. Might be sweet for some palettes, but plenty of complex flavour and enjoyable, although I'm not sure that it warrants being effectively £90
Best Jura I have tasted in a long time.
We taste all of the time and this is alcohol with sugary whisky flavouring synonymous with a really young non Scottish whisky...... its a no from us... not awful but not £89 .... we guessed £26... hope that helps
A beautiful whisky with all the warm charm of that beautiful Island.
