You may have guessed it already from this expression's name, but the Isle of Jura Seven Wood is made with whisky drawn from seven different types of cask. There's American white oak, and six other French oaks, Limousin, Tronçais, Allier, Vosges, Jupilles, and Les Bertranges. Intriguing stuff, this.
Nutmeg, strawberry jam on toast, Brazil nuts.
Lemon peel, sawdust, apricot and cooked peach.
Heavy vanilla. A hint of smoke develops.

I am a huge fan of most of the Isle of Jura whiskeys, but not this one. For me, the flavors are very muddled. I had the same experience with the Balvenie Triple Cask, which uses the same approach of finishing the same scotch in multiple casks, then combining.
I was expecting a heavily Oak taste approaching a bourbon much like many multi-wood scotches tend to be. I was very pleasantly surprised. A very mild creamy introduction developing in the back to a smooth, slightly sweet, minimally oaky, a little fruit, and very little peat for a Jura. I like it!
