First released for the Travel Retail market, this Jura 18 Year Old has most of the hallmarks of the distillery's style, but adds a unique cask finish. After maturation in small batch American oak bourbon barrels, it is given a rather decadent finishing period in Bordeaux red wine barrels. It stand apart from similar age statements in the Jura range, and adds some genuinely interesting flavour combinations.
Through a distinct mineral quality comes mild caramel, beeswax and soft estery notes with plenty of cereal and a development of oak.
Spice and bitter qualities rise, along with a dark nuttiness and some creamy vanilla. Damson jam lingers throughout.
Medium long finish, with predominately caramel notes.
