Johnnie Walker Platinum used to sit between Gold and Blue in the extensive range of blends, carrying an impressive 18-year-old age statement.
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Sweet rich and deep notes with maraschino cherries, toffee caramel, vanilla, baked rhubarb crumble and a very thin whiff of smoke.
The richness continues onto the palate, which is sweet and warming, with creamy malt, oats and cereal. A spicy vanilla cinnamon dusting too with the gentle smoke again developing.
Dark chocolate with caramalised peel.
Another pleasing blend from Johnnie Walker, this is quite different from the gold label.

Slightly disappointing. After hunting it down for weeks, I finally got a taste of this much anticipated blend back in November. I was dismayed by its indistinguishable taste. Double black was well crafted and sips smoother. Green is always a solid choice. However, Blue is still superior by far. Platinum has not found its niche. If JW is listening, I look forward to Diamond.
Well,...about 10 bottles now,....still magic!!!
