Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old (or "Aged 18 Years") is a terrific blended Scotch whisky from the world-famous range, which features a combination of up to 18 different whiskies, including the likes of Cardhu, Glen Elgin, Auchroisk and Blair Athol, among others. Carefully created by master blender Jim Beveridge, this expression packs bags of creamy vanilla, vibrant fruit and runny honey, alongside soft wisps of smoke. Back in the days of yore and yonder, this was known as Johnnie Walker Platinum Label.
Honeyed cereals, Cadbury's Fruit and Nut, distant bonfire smoke, clementine and spring blossom.
Peanut brittle, candied peels, plump sultana, a whisper of floral malt gives it an aromatic mid-palate, before giving way to a whisper of dry, earthy smoke.
Another wave of honey, with a soft hint of cinnamon spiciness.
Well, Johnnie Walker never fails to deliver & certainly no disappointment here! Beautiful full smooth flavour - one to be savoured. Honestly this is one of the best whiskies I have tasted and I have paid triple this for a bottle on many occasion. Truly phenomenal value for this price.
Honey, vanilla and smoke. A very simple and light taste with a short finish. Overall very average, I don’t get all the hype around this blend.
First Johnnie Walker dram for me. Not bad for blended whisky. I got this around US$50. Guess good value for money especially since this is 18 yo whisky. This JW Ultimate 18 will be my daily drink before going to bed except for weekend. Yamazaki 12 or Hibiki MS or Hakushu 12 are still my weekend choice :)
Honey faint smoke not much, fruit candy nutty and decent spice and linger of dryness.
Just such a nice Whiskey for the price you pay. You can taste the wood of the barrel. Agree with someone who wrote that it is not short from Blue Label that costs two and a half times the price.
