Johnnie Walker
Scotland
Blended
Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old (or "Aged 18 Years") is a terrific blended Scotch whisky from the world-famous range, which features a combination of up to 18 different whiskies, including the likes of Cardhu, Glen Elgin, Auchroisk and Blair Athol, among others. Carefully created by master blender Jim Beveridge, this expression packs bags of creamy vanilla, vibrant fruit and runny honey, alongside soft wisps of smoke. Back in the days of yore and yonder, this was known as Johnnie Walker Platinum Label.
Honeyed cereals, Cadbury's Fruit and Nut, distant bonfire smoke, clementine and spring blossom.
Peanut brittle, candied peels, plump sultana, a whisper of floral malt gives it an aromatic mid-palate, before giving way to a whisper of dry, earthy smoke.
Another wave of honey, with a soft hint of cinnamon spiciness.
Great
This tastes just like a mellowed Clynelish. Clynelish 14 is £40. This can be nearly twice as much. Go for the single malt. Its twice the drink this is.
I've been to many Johnny Walker tastings and never quite liked either blend. But, this one is remarkable to the point of me wanting to finally purchase one of their bottles. I was amazed at the thought of maybe buying this blend!!! It's worth the money, especially if I SIP it for many years!?
Got this since it was on sale at Costco in Phoenix, AZ. A great scotch for a price range <$50. It’s mellow and has a sweet after taste. Has more character than Blue Label.
Сам си изпих бутилка от старото 18 yo, ,,The Gentenary Blend'' и не вярвам в нищо по-добро...
