An exclusive bottling created in memory of the founder of Johnnie Walker, John Walker himself. The whisky, which follows the heritage of the Blue Label and the King George V, is crafted from specially selected casks to create a whisky as close to the 19th century style as possible. The decanter is presented in a lacquered cabinet that took sixty hours to make.
The aroma is surprisingly fresh, considering the age of some of the whisky used to make it, with bright citrus notes. The palate displays rich fruit and sweet vanilla notes with a honeyed character emerging. The finish is simply astoundingly long with fruit and spice waltzing to the very end.
I found a bottle of The John Walker sitting on a shelf in the local supermarket. I bought it on the weekend. Bottle No:8 What an unbelievable place to find such a beautiful piece of history.
Had 3 bottles at one time, greatest drink known to man.
