Johnnie Walker Green Label is a blended malt made entirely with single malts from the four corners of Scotland and aged for at least 15 years. It's one of the best bargains in Scotch whisky and a favourite among bartenders.
The nose is quite rich and full. There are notes of mochaccino and espresso coffee, wood smoke and a fireplace, as well as a touch of bitter chocolate and oak.
The palate has a medium-body with notes of crisp cereals, coffee beans and chocolate, a date note with a touch of walnut.
The finish is quite long and spicy with honeyed sweetness and oak.
I usually drink single malts and I like a peated whisky. This is a pleasant enough blend, and I only really bought this to enter the prize draw, but in this price range I could get an Ardbeg Ten, a Laphroaig or a Teeling Single Pot Still.
I’m not a fan of blends, because you never know what goes into them. This one is slightly peaty, but still quite smooth and sweet, leaves nice numbness in the mouth. Certainly quite nice.
...then it must be REALLY damn good! I mean, this whisky is a work of art, for a blend. Islay smoke weaves in & out of cereal sweetness, balancing a few fruity & mild nutty flavors with the woody spices. Super good; this may be the only blend I ever buy again.
Disappointing, lacking in every department
I found it a very nice and easy on the palate blend. Oaky & smokey.
