Blended
Johnnie Walker
Scotland
Originally released to the travel retail market, Double Black combines the rich, malty flavour of Black Label with slightly peatier whisky and casks that were more heavily charred. The result is a toasty, smoky whisky with Johnnie Walker's usual rich, malty core.
Slightly smoky and almost medicinal on the nose, it offers up hints of vanilla, a little tar, a touch of barbecue sauce, citrus and malt.
Good body and very creamy with a sublimely malty core. It offers up a surprising level of peat smoke which works really well. Creamy sweetness, hints of soft wood smoke, salty butter, custard and cereal grains.
Good length with notes of malt, boiled sweets, black pepper and cool smoke.

Got this for £25 on offer, but would pay full whack. Great balance of sweetness and peatiness. Will get another bottle soon!
I have always wanted a spirit that I love. And this is it. Warm, gentle, and full. Better still; the price. My bride gave a me a taste and I hated it. A year later, I was in love with this blended marvel. The whiskey equivalent of a warm fireplace on a cool evening. A perfect before or with a beef at dinner. IDK about being "the best"... but it's worth more than its $30 range. Feels like a friend. Love it.
If you don’t like smoke this is not for you. I never knew I liked the smoke until I tried it. This is one of my favourites in the Johnnie Walker range. A lot of whisky for the money. The only problem is that it is a bit tricky to get hold of as its not for general sale in Canada. Well worth picking up at the airport when you travel though. It is great when you let it breathe and add a little bit of water to it. Unlike some in the range it’s actually great value for money.
I'm no whiskey expert but I like my black label. I tried this and it tasted like some made in china replica of the original
