Produced by John Distilleries in Goa, India, the Paul John range of single malt whiskies is named after their Chairman. Made using Indian 6-row barley from the Himalayan foothills, Brilliance is matured in bourbon barrels for 3-5 years before bottling at cask strength. (As with other Indian single malts, the tropical climate causes greater evaporation, around 12-13% a year, but in turn they show very well at younger ages.)
Good core of juicy barley. Ryvita with salted butter. Cinnamon-dusted-red berries, with a little green apple skin following it up.
Chomp Bars - lots of chewy caramel and chocolate here. Picks up from lively spice along the way, with a little bit of waxy orange peel on the mid palate.
Orange lingers. Surprisingly long, with the rye notes from the nose coming back in full force.
A fine Indian single malt from John Distilleries.

Fabulous single malt from India. This dram has a unique mouthwatering malt & barley flavor. Its sweet, fruity & spicy on the palette with a surprisingly long finish. Pairs well with Indian kababs as well as spicy food.
Superb dram from India... am already a fan of Amrut and now paul john raises the bar above.... Its very tough to find in India as most is export due to high demands... nose of honey and slight vanilla... taste was awesome i found rich berries and roasted raisins and nuts.... it finishes with a buttery note and complex flavors resting on your tongue for long.....has instant become one of my favorite...
Pretty much has become my favourite whisky. I bought a bottle for Christmas and have thoroughly enjoyed every sip. I will most definitely be buying this bottle again. 'Brilliance is brilliant!
The nose is similar to Aberlour but it's not as toffee like on the palate. Lots of sweetness, vanilla. Couldn't find the green apple which has been mentioned in expert reviews. It is spicy though. Adding water didn't help much. Better near. Loved it.
Really love the explosion of flavours. A little splash of water and it opens up heavenly.
