Thick and of good body with notes of orchard fruits, both fresh and cooked with a little vanilla cream.

If you get a good bottle of this then you can sometimes get a great whisky for the price. Lot's of batch variation though but at the low cost it's not a huge gamble. My Murray must have had a good one! ;)
The Victory Gin of whiskey. Great for sports bar brahs and chicks - and just as boring. I guess it's drinkable, especially if no alternatives are at hand. But Jameson and it's compatriot brands raise troubling questions, namely: why does Irish whiskey pale so starkly in contrast to its cousins across the channel?
Several years ago I attended a marathon blind tasting of whiskies led by Jim Murray - 13 "samples" in one evening! Upon discussing the Jameson, I identified it as being a superb breakfast whiskey - Mr Murray asked if I was Irish - but I actually claim to German ancestry. Humor aside, I always have a bottle or two of the Jameson in my collection, and it is often visited to remove the flavor of some other "marketer's experiment". Keep up the good work! Just bought a 1L bottle here in the Netherlands on 22 Dec., 2017. Admittedly priced down, but tastes like crap relative to that of the previous 5 years of Jameson. Too young, sweet and like some chemical cocktail! Well done Jameson after the £11m makeover!
Exceptionally smooth, I taste chewy dates and an oak finish. Very drinkable and would be something you could drink with food, in particular smoked or grilled meat. On its own a bit lack luster in its flavor and definitely in its complexity. Good to have in the cabinet but don’t get too excited about it.
