Jameson Black Barrel is a special blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey, made with aged double-distilled spirits and matured in deep charred oak barrels. The result is a smoother, richer whiskey with a complex taste. Jameson Black Barrel is perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks.
Jameson Black Barrel (AKA Small Batch) is a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small-batch grain. The result is an increased body and level of richness when compared to the core expression. It's aged in double charred first-fill bourbon casks (black barrels). Well worth a look...
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 28 02 2025, while stock lasts.
Rich and fruity with notes of tropical fruits, coconut, nectarines in yoghurt, guava and a thick core of sweet cereals.
Thick and full on the palate, with an intense, unctuous creaminess, alongside dates, walnuts and peels. Good peach and coconut notes, and a little cinnamon.
Long finish, and very fruity with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg and hints of potpourri.
I'm a long time Jameson consumer, and will continue to be, but find the Black Barrel bitter from beginning to end - quite disappointed.
I am a little on the fence on this one. It's certainly different. The latent sweetness which comes as a long after taste is not fully to my liking, but I can see how many would like it. As an avid fan of Red Brest and Yellow Spot I tend to compare everything against these two and that is a little unfair. I will rate this as 3.5/5 for now, but wan to try a second bottle to form a long term opinion
Things start well, then comes an unpleasant taste of mouldy wood. Not for me.
Really different from regular Jameson and much better than it. Plesantly surprised with the palate, nose and finish. I think this one is the best whiskey of Jameson!
Not a bad whiskey by any means, but if you like whisky it's probably not for you. Smooth enough to be enjoyed neat. Not what I think of when going for an Irish drop. For me too much toffee, molasses sweetness etc
