Jameson Black Barrel

Jameson Black Barrel is a special blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey, made with aged double-distilled spirits and matured in deep charred oak barrels. The result is a smoother, richer whiskey with a complex taste. Jameson Black Barrel is perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks.

Jameson Black Barrel (AKA Small Batch) is a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small-batch grain. The result is an increased body and level of richness when compared to the core expression. It's aged in double charred first-fill bourbon casks (black barrels). Well worth a look...

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Rich and fruity with notes of tropical fruits, coconut, nectarines in yoghurt, guava and a thick core of sweet cereals.

Palate Thick and full on the palate, with an intense, unctuous creaminess, alongside dates, walnuts and peels. Good peach and coconut notes, and a little cinnamon.

Finish Long finish, and very fruity with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg and hints of potpourri.

Reviews for Jameson Black Barrel
Tasting Irish whiskeys
I tried teeling small batch, jameson ipa, jameson black barrel, bushmills black bush, bushmills 10, jameson stout, back to back in the same night. I am surprized by bad comments. I am not expert, but clearly this is the tastiest one which matters most. Bushmills 10 is the smoothest. I also liked stout and black bush a lot.

Dull but cheap and decent
Well take the positive first its dead cheap and decent. My palate finds this drink a little dull, but im obviously in minority here.

Smooth with subtle oak and sweet caramel notes
I'm a died in the wool Jamesons drinker. Mix it with nothing a drink it neat in chilled glasses. I keep my whiskey in the fridge at 40°F. My go to is Black Barrel. What a smooth tasting Irish Whiskey with subtle oak and sweet caramel notes. When I sit down in the evening it caps off my day. When having drinks with friends and or family it just fits like a favorite old jacket that make me comfortable. I Suggest it to anyone that loves their whiskey and have happily converted bourbon drinkers.

Great if you're tired of jack Daniels
Wonderfully smooth with delayed hints of vanilla. I dont like smokey whiskey so this is perfect. This whiskey is so nice it almost drinks itself. Punches well above its price in my opinion

Disappointed
Basically disappointed...after reading so many good reviews I found it no better than the cask whiskies..I am a Jameson's lover...but for me...Black Barrel for the price is on par with the cheaper cask blends

Nothingness
Absolutely a whiskey to remember... in a very negative way. A bunch of chemistry, no depth at all. Slightly some hints of nothingness, and the spiceyness in the nose is simply not there in the mouth. Bad buy.

My favourite Jameson?
Might be my favourite Jameson. Great cross-over taste mixing elements of Bourbon together with Irish. A really lovely, interesting one I have returned to a few times.

Smooth Drinking
First time for me with an Irish whiskey. Usually drink bourbon but the fact that it was aged in oak bourbon barrels caught my attention. Nice and light with good flavor. Will buy it again.

Solid neutral irish whiskey
Middle of the road safe whiskey that's easy to drink. I feel it's quite overpriced at Є48, at that price point there's several cheaper whiskies I would prefer.
However, as a whiskey on its own merit, it's very good and probably a great addition to someone that's just beginning their collection and figuring out what exactly they're looking for in a whiskey.
