A no-age-statement single malt from Crabbie's! John Crabbie’s original premises were at Yardheads in Leith, hence the name of the whisky. As the brand new distillery gets up and running, Crabbie's has released this single malt from an undisclosed distillery for us to enjoy! A brilliant spirit to try out some whisky cocktails with - may we suggest a Highball?
Custard Cream biscuits, lemon peel, a touch of savoury wood.
Mint leaf, toffee apple, white grape, slightly toasty.
Rye heat and soft cinnamon.

I was told to buy Crabbies Ginger Wine instead of supermarket brand to try a whisky mac. Found Yardhead, read the back of the bottle bought it and POW! Whisky Mac. I won't drink it ahead of my other malts, but it's a better mixer than most cheap Whisky.
I thought that this was a decent whiskey for the price. Johnny Red is every bit as good and cheaper again. Either are great for cocktails, especially rusty nails!

Easy drinking with a chunk of ice BUT the real way to enjoy it is as a hot toddy.. how? Heated small mug, add a teaspoon of honey, a nip of Crabbies Green Ginger, a nip of Yardheid (Leith speak) top off with boiling water... keeps the cauld oot!..
First tasted last night very pleasant malt
