A no-age-statement single malt from Crabbie's! John Crabbie’s original premises were at Yardheads in Leith, hence the name of the whisky. As the brand new distillery gets up and running, Crabbie's has released this single malt from an undisclosed distillery for us to enjoy! A brilliant spirit to try out some whisky cocktails with - may we suggest a Highball?
Custard Cream biscuits, lemon peel, a touch of savoury wood.
Mint leaf, toffee apple, white grape, slightly toasty.
Rye heat and soft cinnamon.

Very nice honey and sweetness to it, very nice with a coke
1/10 Genuinely not nice... Very sour, borderline yeasty on the nose. Taste is very sweet, biscuity, but not in a pleasant way for something that you'd drink straight. Slight metallic aftertaste. If you're looking for a sweeter whisky, you're much better going for Auchentoshan (particularly the American Oak) or Monkey Shoulder.
Crabbie's was only known to me as a very good "ginger ale". I tried a bottle of Yardhead. Very strong on taste, in fact almost burning. Little on the palate. Gave up trying to find the finish. Not recommended as a malt. Never seen Crabbie's other malts. I'll stick to the Glengoyne and Aberfeldy.
Excellent whiskey! Probably different batches may vary.. Smell, taste and aftertaste are very good. not too strong. I drink my straight and enjoy. It is decent quality for money you pay
Absolutely fine smooth drink any time whisky on its own or if you are a spoiler mix it
