    Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye

The Jack Daniel's range grew in 2017 with the introduction of their Tennessee Rye whiskey - the first whiskey from the distillery with a mash-bill that different from the classic Tennessee Whiskey since Prohibition! It features a core of 70% rye, supported by 18% corn and 12% malted barley, and enjoys the same charcoal filtration as their other expressions.

    Thank gods it’s not No.7

Absolutely hate Jack Daniels (No.7) but love this! Don’t let the fact that’s it’s Jack Daniels put you off.

    Spicy.

Well it's different to no. 7. It is not expensive so I guess it is worth a try for you. It is much spicier than no. 7.

    ON MY GO TO LIST!

I LOVE IT....AS THE SCOTS SAY- AFTER TWO SHOTS WHO CARES ABOUT THE ? BANANAS?

Pleasant enough rye, best used for cocktails. You might even spare the sugar lump in your old fashioned!

An easy-drinking rye, pretty much what you’d expect from JD. it bares solid flavours off the bat. Burnt caramel, banana bread and spice, oak and damson follow thereafter. As a sipper I’d say perhaps its sweetness overpowers the palette. Rye should be spice and wood first with fruit loaf notes following at the end. The tongue needs to search for sweetness in rye. Kinda the opposite of bourbon really. At 45% it has enough alcohol to stay lively in cocktails, which is pretty much what I’ll be using my bottle for. It retails here in UK for £32, but I just took a punt on this today at Tesco, reduced to £16. I’d shell out again for this at £16 but probably not for its usual price. Few more shells will get you rye as rye ought to be.
