The Jack Daniel's range grew in 2017 with the introduction of their Tennessee Rye whiskey - the first whiskey from the distillery with a mash-bill that different from the classic Tennessee Whiskey since Prohibition! It features a core of 70% rye, supported by 18% corn and 12% malted barley, and enjoys the same charcoal filtration as their other expressions.
Fried banana, hot chocolate and a hint of toasted grain.
Drying cinnamon and nutmeg, followed by more chocolatey notes. A touch of cooked apple appears later on.
Black pepper and spicy oak.

An artificial flavoring banana nose to begin with caramel mixed in. For what supposedly is a high rye mash bill, I'm not getting any of the typical spice. Lots of banana and caramel on the tongue. Not harsh and consistent from start to finish. Lingering aftertaste from the bananas. Had high hopes for what I've read is a 90% rye. Am not tasting that. I'll return to my KH rye.

Cannot taste the rye, can only taste no.7, so disappointing
Better than No.7. Very smooth, priced about right. Now a firm favourite.
