    Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey has been made at its Lynchburg distillery since 1875. The branding and original label, sometimes referred to as No. 7 or Black Label; has made its way into pop culture, with merchandise sold the world over and a history of association with music. Frank Sinatra was even buried with a bottle. The Tennessee whiskey makers use a mash bill made up of 80% corn, 12% rye, and 8% malt to create Jack Daniels whiskey, which is then filtered through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal to produce a mellow, slightly smoky character. A method known as the Lincoln County Process, it means this is not a bourbon, but instead meets the legal definition of a Tennessee whiskey. Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel ( c. January 1849 – October 9, 1911) was an American distiller and businessman, best known as the founder of the Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey distillery.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Light with plenty of sweetness. There are hints of dry spice and oily nuts, a touch of smoke.

    Palate

Quite smooth and soft with notes of banana milkshake, a mixed nut note, a touch of caramel with crème anglaise.

    Finish

Sweet with a little cereal sweetness and toasty oak.

    Drink it neat

To appreciate this legendary Tennessee Whiskey at its best, do not mix it. Use vodka or a cheap blended scotch for that. People who say say Jack Daniels is junk are pretentious, when you truly give it a tasting it is a very well made drink with more complexity than first appears. It lifts the spirts and rewards- with drinks like Jack Daniels, you are reminded that Whisky in USA, Scotland and Ireland was a drink for ordinary people, not the just the rich buying single malts. Overall flavour- very sweet, with notes of Charcoal, Banana and Dark Sugar. Smoke is also very present, but in a completely different, barbecue charred, sweeter way to a peaty Islay Whisky. One of the world best whiskeys, in fact it is one of the best selling alcoholic beverages of any type across the world.

Greatest Rock ´n´Roll Whiskey Of All-Time, baby!!

Nothing wrong with Jack Daniels. First tasted this as a teenager and it tastes exactly now as it did then. Who doesn´t like Jack Daniels? Modern-day, elitist, trendy ´hipsters´ who prefer to blow their money on $250+ bottles of whiskey. This dumb trend started about 10-15 years ago - and you can understand why. Frank Sintra drank it. Keith Richard drank it. Jimmy Page drank it. Van Halen drank it. Slash drank/drinks it. I drink it. End of.
