J&B Rare has long been a go-to for whisky fans across the globe, particularly in Europe.
Following the end of Prohibition in the USA, J&B Rare was created by Justerini & Brooks to appeal to the American palate, hitting shelves in 1933. The blend itself is made with a combination of 42 Scotch single malts and grains, with a generous portion of Speyside whisky at the expression's core.
J&B Rare is perfect for those who enjoy a classic whisky taste with a modern twist. This smooth Scotch is great on the rocks or neat, and it's also versatile enough to be used in cocktails.
J&B Rare whisky is an affordable option that delivers on taste and quality, so it's no wonder that it's one of the most popular Scotches on the market. If you're looking for a go-to whisky that won't break the bank, J&B Rare is a great choice.
A medium-bodied nose with hints of walnut, toffee apples, cedar wood, orange zest and malt.
Balanced and rounded nose - lots of fruit here, with a little toffee and malt.
Medium finish with oak and cinnamon.
Flavor Notes-Lemon Peal , grain and Perfect Smoke. Its a Blend so we can taste some very good Scotch in here, and some slightly cheaper grain whiskey.Incredible $ bargain in the 1.75.
First of all, everyone has different tastes, and the only way to find out for yourself is to buy a pint bottle and taste it yourself. J&B Rare isn't a 12 year old single malt, nor is it nearly as pricey. But for me, it's affordable and easy to drink, neat or on the rocks. I've tried most other affordable blended scotch brands that are available in my area, and whenever I see a blended scotch I haven't yet tried, I'll buy a bottle to sample, but I always come back to J&B Rare. It's been my "everyday" whisky for decades. On the nose it has light fruit, vanilla, and smoke, and it's taste is lightly sweet, with a little spiciness, and it's aftertaste is very short.
What a great whisky for an affordable price specially the beginners, take a shot and you surely amazed to its very fine taste in a palate and finish it good...have it now w/ one box ...your hard earned money deserve to have this scotch, love it neat and on the rocks...
light sweetness with oak and spice a little smoke and caramel.
Very pale yellow colour. Nose is dried plumes and floral notes. Tastes like dried fruit with a woody, smokey background taste. Medium-short finish. Light palate/body, almost watery. Overall a good blend, I'd recommend it for beginners. I wouldn't mix it, cause it is very light so it might loosen the taste too much. Not bad.
