Ian Macleod
Scotland
Blended
This eight-year-old blend from Ian Macleod has been dubbed Isle of Skye, with the blend based around malt whisky from the Islands and Speyside. Particularly that famous whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye! The blend is very well regarded among whisky critics, making it something of a bargain!
Quite smoky on the nose, with crème anglaise, digestive biscuits, and hints of cocoa powder.
Sweet and creamy with gooey sticky toffee pudding, gingerbread, fruitcake, and sherried spices among a little more smoke and sea.
Nutty and spicy, with almond oil and black pepper.
A 40% ABV blend. It seems to combine heavy and flavorful island malts with light grain whisky. It works well
Malty & Peaty a good priced blend Unfortunately seems to evaporate at an alarmingly rapid rate as its so easy to almost quaff down so will have to buy another bottle of this but thankfully won't break the Bank
As I have said many times before, this is top notch scotch for a price most can afford. If that’s not possible go and get a job and buy a can of coke.
Needs a few drops of water to bring out the flavours. Has plenty of character, and at this price (£20 when ordered) it's certainly competitive. But significantly better available if you want to spend more, e.g. the Great King Street blends from Compass Box.
A nice smooth scotch. Great price too.
