You may have guessed it already from this expression's name, but the Isle of Jura Seven Wood is made with whisky drawn from seven different types of cask. There's American white oak, and six other French oaks, Limousin, Tronçais, Allier, Vosges, Jupilles, and Les Bertranges. Intriguing stuff, this.
Nutmeg, strawberry jam on toast, Brazil nuts.
Lemon peel, sawdust, apricot and cooked peach.
Heavy vanilla. A hint of smoke develops.

the seven wood is amazing i have drank every jura produced and rate te 7 wood the best value for money.
I love Jura 10 yr. I hate Jura 18 in regards to red wine cask finish. But this 7 wood is exceptional!
I enjoy the Jura Seven Wood. It has complex flavors, but will not overwhelm you in a bad way. Just a fun whisky! One of my stable stocked bottles.
But of a mix of flavours. Agree with previous comments that mention it settles when opened and also agree with those that say its a bit muddled. I didnt get strawberry, for me I got banana, oak and a bit of smoke. A teaspoon of water further developed the sweetness of the fruit notes. £30 clearance, Im at the end of the bottle and the space it leaves wont be filled by another 7 Wood.
Definitely get the strawberry jam on toast on the nose, while the palate is quite complex with lots of nuts and wood, more jam and some earthy coffee to boot. Dark chocolate and vanilla linger, but I don't get any smoke. Would happily buy again.
