Islay Storm
Single Malt
An Islay single malt from a secret distillery, Islay Storm has loads of peaty character.
Peat smoke, oily, briny, some malt.
Sweet rush initially, then onto medicinal peat and seaweed, some bourbon notes, spices, custard.
Smoke, long and spiced.
Perfect to sip on and to have with a good cigar, no expert but.....
Absolutely spot on - reasonable price for the taste
Lovely drop. One of my favourites and decent price
The range of reviews is amazing. We are all whisky lovers but of course with highly individual tastes. I thought the nose was phenolic, rather unpleasant (but so what?)- but the taste of the first dram was incredibly peaty, unmistakable Islay (?Laphroaig) . The second dram seemed almost creamy and soft, very viscose and it oiled its way down my throat. It's definitely a young one (test it in the glass) but actually, I find it pretty drinkable and for the price totally acceptable. I'm a Lagavulin fan (but phew, the price has gone up.....)
I just like it
