Islay Storm
Single Malt
An Islay single malt from a secret distillery, Islay Storm has loads of peaty character.
Peat smoke, oily, briny, some malt.
Sweet rush initially, then onto medicinal peat and seaweed, some bourbon notes, spices, custard.
Smoke, long and spiced.
Better than Laphroaig! A gorgeous whisky, cut with less water than I usually take or it goes 'thin'. The aroma is heavenly and the taste does not disappoint. Great value. Stunning. Ambrosia.
The custard taste is so obviously Bird's.
Unsurpassed at the price. A 'light' peaty Islay, a more mellow dram when one doesn't want an Ardbeg, Laphroig or Lagavulin. Definitely one to use to introduce whisky drinkers to a bit of peat.
For the money this is hard to beat. One of my favourites.
Love it. Great Islay character, and amazing value at $20 at Trader Joe's in the USA - maybe they have an exclusive but has been available in Boston and Brookline MA TJs for years and bought one today, so it is available
