An Islay single malt from a secret distillery, Islay Storm has loads of peaty character.
Peat smoke, oily, briny, some malt.
Sweet rush initially, then onto medicinal peat and seaweed, some bourbon notes, spices, custard.
Smoke, long and spiced.
Interesting.. Not what one would expect from an Islay and hence a disapointment given the name. Giant peat with loads of alcohol on the nose. Seems very young. Not recomendable for Islay Lovers.
Expecting peat. Got it. But nothing aftner that. Not The Islay I knowvand love.
A superb Islay - different with some sweet caramel notes on the fore taste and salt without being over peaty on the after taste. A bargain at the price and my favourite whisky find for two years

I can not imagine that the 2011 tasters had the 'Storm' as the 2013 batch. The current edition has a nice finish, but what you have to taste to get there is not good. I will mix this down with a blend and serve to guests.
