Islay Storm
Single Malt
An Islay single malt from a secret distillery, Islay Storm has loads of peaty character.
Peat smoke, oily, briny, some malt.
Sweet rush initially, then onto medicinal peat and seaweed, some bourbon notes, spices, custard.
Smoke, long and spiced.
Bloody good. Love it
my daughter brought it back from her tip to Edinburgh. I wish she had bought more than one!! Love it
LOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Please make it available in the U.S. again. I am going into withdrawal...
Had it once and can’t forget the Smokey peaty taste. Far too easy to drink! Wish it was easily available in Australia. Might convert some of the ‘single malt’ snobs to a real whisky.
Typical Islay peaty nose, with a lot of Blended Scotch undertones. Weak @ 80 Proof, and the peat is much less pronounced on the palate. I'm in full agreement with the other taster who said "If Dewars White Label was given a peating". I was looking for a way to describe the taste and that just about hits it on the nose, pun intended. But @ $20 a bottle it's not bad for what it is. I'll stick to my Laphroaig, though.
