The Islay Mist blend was first launched in the 1920s. Known for its good peating level which comes from malts like Laphroaig.
Nose: Sweet, soft fudge, and all the inherent creaminess, slightly herbal.
Palate: Soft, creamy. Barley.
Finish: Spirity, oak.

This blend is affordable and nice. On the nose I got vanilla , cola, acetone. Taste sweet, peaty, short finish but great value. This is better than many single malts, and tastes like a single malt. Price is right.

This is it. We just love it. Probably the best blended whisky in the universe. We used to like Black Bottle but they spoiled it with the recent re-blend ( No Isley Malt) . Discovered this and it's just Magic!!!!!!!!!!!

For me, this blend is an ideal part of the following trinity: Islay Mist, Laphroaig 10 and Laphroaig 10 Cask Strenght. You start with a dram of Mist, the proceed to the Laph 10 and the finish with the Cask Strenght monster. This gives you a perfect ascending curve of voluptuosness of taste and length of aftertaste; everything grows more intense, the sea, the smoke, the peat, the iodine etc...all this being said, this blend is perfect on itsown as well, as an aperitif or digestif, whatever, perfectly clean and nicely done!
