That Boutique-y Whisky Company
Scotland
It seems that no one has quite plucked up the courage to tell That Boutique-y Whisky Company how "Coffey still" is spelled, as they're onto the 3rd batch of incredible Invergordon single grain Scotch whisky and they've still not got it quite right on the label. The general shape of the Coffey still diagram seems fine (even if there are no more Coffey stills at the Invergordon distillery), but the output seems a lot more... Caffeinated than you would expect. Never-the-less, these Boutique-y Invergordon releases are such phenomenal releases that it almost makes you forgive them for the mix-up. Almost.
Batch 3 is a release of 60 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Crikey. Deep, intense, fragrant fudge. With a nose like this, you may not want to drink any! Given time some fruity banoffee emerges with dried coconut, dark spices and more complex and creamy caramels.
Toffee bitter, clove and rye-like pepperiness. Good body. Treacle covered almonds.
The spicy toffee goodness keeps on coming.
More along the lines of Batch 1 (the colour is a giveaway!), a well-aged Boutique-y grain whisky. Perfect.
